固态物体在容器中“压底”的原因在于物体在液体中所受浮力小于物体所受重力。最常见的一种情况是物体密度大于液体密度,不论所浸液体是否足够,物体皆会触底而对器底施加压力。另一种情况是物体密度等于或小于液体密度,但液体的深度不足,因而不能给物体施以足够的浮力使之漂浮。
The reason why a solid object “presses the bottom” in a container is that the buoyancy of the object in the liquid is less than the gravity of the object. The most common situation is that the density of the object is greater than the density of the liquid. No matter whether the immersed liquid is sufficient or not, the object will touch the bottom and exert pressure on the bottom of the device. In the other case, the density of the object is equal to or less than the density of the liquid, but the depth of the liquid is insufficient so that the object cannot be sufficiently buoyant to float.
