Static track time-shifts caused by near-surface effects can severely reduce the overall quality of seismic data. Some effects such as elevation can be measured directly. Wellhead time can be recorded to estimate weathering effects, but the presence of surface hypocenters results in no available wellhead time. Therefore, the final static correction must be measured directly from the data. Each track must be compared to its adjacent track to obtain a relative time shift between them. The results in the field tape how many records, there are how many times the static shift measurement. These measurements are not completely independent of each other, but the way they relate to each other
