Deoxyribonucleotide terminal transferase (TdT) activity has been found in blast cells in children with acute leukemia and certain chronic myeloblastic disorders. It is generally believed that the TdT activity of T-cell lines is several times higher than that of B-cell lines. . The authors reported a 16-year-old man with acute leukemia, a clinically complicated mediastinal mass, and immunoelectrophoresis showed a peak of IgG monoclonal, confirmed as B-cell leukemia with IgG monoclonal gammopathies. However, before treatment, TdT activity in peripheral blood leukocytes was calculated to be 261 ng/h/10~9 cells (calculated as 氚-deoxyguanosine nucleotides - ~3H-dGMP infiltration amount), and the primordium was moderately elevated. The number of peripheral blood leukocytes before treatment in this patient was 17,500.
