社区服务是社区矫正人员在接受社区矫正过程中,参加的由当地司法行政机关组织的具有强制性、矫正性和公益性的必要服务活动。《社区矫正实施办法》第十六条规定:“有劳动能力的社区矫正人员应当参加社区服务,修复社会关系,培养社会责任感、集体观念和纪律意识。社区矫正人员每月参加社区服务时间不少于八小时”。通过参加社区服务,可以使社区矫正人员实现对社会的补偿,培养其社会责任感,既起到惩罚作用,也在行为上对社区矫正人员进行矫正,
