中国悠久的书画史,书画家人数众多,据俞剑华编著的《中国美术家人名大辞典》一书统计,其人数多达三万余人,传世书画作品数量更是可观~([1])。明中叶的吴地书画家王问(一四九七—一五七六),其存世作品数量亦不算少,也许由于当时吴门地区翰墨高手林立的缘故,王问遂不被后世主要书画史家们所选择。翻阅目前存世的重要书画文献,王问及其书画创作见之于书籍的主要有如下四条:
