Objective To identify the ticks entering the country for the first time intercepted by Tianjin Port. Methods Toxins carried by an Australian visitor were morphologically identified. Tick DNA was then extracted and the mitochondrial DNAs including ND4, ND4L, tRNA-Thr, tRNA-Pro, ND6 and some cytb were amplified and sequenced. Yes, combined with epidemiological survey information on the results of a comprehensive analysis. Results The morphological characteristics of the ticks were consistent with those of the genus. The molecular identification showed that the sequence of the gene was 99% identical to that of the Amblyomma triguttatum Koch, 1844 (kangaroo tick) in Australia and was identified as Amblyomma triguttatum. Conclusion This tick is the first tick in the country that is carried by travelers.
