The International Association of Art History (Comite Internatioanle d’Histoire de l’Art, hereinafter referred to as CIHA) was founded in 1930 in Brussels. After experiencing the rapid development in the 1930s, the deficiencies in the work of the CIHA were highlighted in the 1970s. Criticism focused on the tendency of the CIHA to focus only on Western art traditions. In 1977, after the revision of the constitution of the CIHA, academic secretary Jacques Thuillier wrote in his summary of the work: “First of all, CIHA wants to focus without hesitation and unreservedly on the art of non-Western countries, especially Asia And the art of the Middle East; secondly, invite the country where the expert with international understanding of art joins CIHA to develop international cooperation. ”
