建筑物墙身开裂是当前迫切需要解决的一个问题。尤其是小型混凝土空心砌块(以下简称小砌块)建筑,由于墙体上下皮砌块之间仅肋上有少量砂浆粘结,其抗拉抗剪能力比砖墙低,例如同为50号砂浆的190毫米厚小砌块墙的抗拉、抗剪能力仅为240毫米厚实心墙的35%。因此小砌块建筑对屋面温度变化、地基不均匀沉降、荷载不均匀及构件或砌体干缩等因素引起的墙身开裂更为敏感。
