厌氧菌感染在临床外科的认识与甲硝哒唑在厌氧菌感染防治中的作用是近年来外科感染中两个重大的发展。早在1897年Veillon和Zuber就开始描述厌氧菌感染,但多年来这方面的工作进展缓慢。直到最近十多年来,由于厌氧菌培养技术的改进,厌氧菌的研究工作才获得显著的发展。Zabransky总结1223份临床标本,厌氧菌的阳性率为26%。Holland报告临床标本厌氧菌的阳性率达58.5%。何氏报告100份标本,厌氧菌的阳性率为60.7%。由此可见,厌氧菌感染的发病率是相当高的。经十余年来的研究与临床验证,甲硝哒唑具有广谱抗厌氧菌作用,用于抗厌氧菌感染的治疗
