Marjorie Palov’s “New Interpretation of Poetry” provides a dynamic insight into his theory of poetic criticism. The poetic dialogue between Paluf and Broome involved in the study reveals the essence of Paluff’s academic thought Subtle changes. The three focuses of the two controversies, namely, aesthetic criticism, linguistic ontology and realistic care, form the core of Palov’s micro-reading and enable her to form a unique theory of poetry criticism on the basis of critically absorbing new criticism and cultural criticism. By this, Palov not only combed the tradition of poetry, but also found an implicit poetry tradition that coexisted with the symbolic poetic tradition advocated by the New Criticism.
