《墨水心》改编自科妮莉亚·丰克创作的德国同名小说，汇集了奥斯卡影后海伦·米伦（《女皇》）、布兰登·弗雷泽（《木乃伊》系列）、性格演员保罗·贝塔尼（《达·芬奇密码》）和安迪·瑟金斯（《指环王》系列）等众多具有票房号召力的明星。本片原定在2007年圣诞节上映，后来又被推迟至2008年3月。然而由于去年闹得沸沸扬扬的美国编剧罢工事件，影片上映时间再度推迟，希望这部魔幻大片能够在今年1月顺利和大家见面吧。
Plot Summary
Mo Folchart and his daughter Meggie travel around the world completing his skilled work as a “Book Doctor,” otherwise known as a bookbinder[装订工人]. Recently, one of Mo’s old acquaintances[相识，熟人], named Dustfinger,
shows up and has a talk with him in private. All of a
sudden, the next morning, Mo packs up and leaves with Meggie without telling her what is going on. They travel to Meggie’s great aunt Elinor’s house to stay.
One night, a bunch of[一帮，很多] thugs[暴徒] arrive at the house and kidnap Mo to take him to see Capricorn[摩羯座], a cruel and evil dictator[独裁者].
Meggie soon finds out that Mo has the ability to read characters out of books. The only drawback[缺点] is that when he brings something out of a story, something
must go back in to replace it. This is how Meggie lost her mother when she replaced Capricorn and
Dustfinger, characters from the book Inkheart.
Determined to get her father back, Meggie sets out with Elinor to Capricorn’s village; however, within a short time of arriving there, they are also abducted[拐走] and locked up with Mo.
Luckily, they are rescued by Dustfinger. Now, they must find a way to get another copy of Inkheart to send Capricorn and his thieves back into its pages, and
return Dustfinger to the home he misses so much.

Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany, Eliza Bennett, and Andy Serkis talked about life on the set of Inkheart and the appeal[吸引力] of Funke’s story.
Q: Were you a fan of the book before tackling the film?
Brendan Fraser (Mo Folchart): I think that it’s a good book because, for one thing, in this age when we
have so many different formats[形式，格式] of media
distribution[发行], does anyone read aloud to their kids anymore? I hope that they do. I have three small boys, and I’m normally reading about shapes and
colors right now because they’re really small. But we’ll
graduate[逐渐变为] to a book like Inkheart, which is meant to be read aloud.
Q: Eliza, this is quite a cast to be playing opposite.
Eliza Bennett (Meggie Folchart): I mean, it’s
great. When I heard about the film, the only person that I knew was going to be in it was Brendan – because he said like three years ago that he was going to do this, because he is Cornelia Funke’s friend. So all I heard about was Brendan, and I thought that he was so perfect
for the role. So it was really, really exciting.
Q: Brendan, is it true the author had you in mind, that you were an inspiration for her?
Fraser: That’s what she told me. She’d be better
at answering that question than I am, but I’m
flattered[感到荣幸] that she said that.
Q: Paul, you’ve played traditional heroes and
traditional villains[坏人] in films. Your character
Dustfinger sort of walks that line. Is that more
interesting for you to play?
Paul Bettany (Dustfinger): Well, what’s interesting to me is that he’s sort of an opportunist[机会主义者], but who desperately[拼命地] wants to go home. He didn’t ask to be here, and every moment in the film he’s just trying to get home, his family. That’s how I often feel when making films.
Q: There is an inherent[与生俱来的] sadness to the
character.
Bettany: Yeah, and he doesn’t state what he wants. You’re like, “What does he want?” And he’s sort of
intense, and then you realize that he just wants to get home to his kids...
Fraser: It’s about reuniting families.
Q: Andy, how would you describe your character?
Andy Serkis (Capricorn): What he loves about this world are the material gains. How he gets them is
another thing, and that is very dark and sinister[险恶的], but I suppose that’s the tension[张力] of the characters. He likes all these kind of fine suits and fine living, and he’s just pleased to be out of it.
