Formation and Preventing of Fibrous Graphite during Slow Solidification of Non-alloyed Ductile Iron Fonderie Fondeur Aujourd’hui [Act], 1985, Vol.46, P14-23 Simulate the Solidification of Thick Castings in the Laboratory (Setting Time About 90 minutes) made about 40 experiments. The results show that when the original molten iron is pure, additional excess of FeSiMg and alkaline earth containing inoculant or additional rare earth elements (eg, 0.02%) will produce crumb-like graphite.
