Hidden in the hustle and bustle of Shanghai’s city, the rows of old alleyways in Shikumen, Shanhaili, Beijing’s West Road, still tell the story of the last century. After the rise and fall of the era of honor and disability, cast a thick time mark, the architectural design, layout venation still seems today, without losing the old Shanghai classic Shikumen charm. In the depths of the alley in Shanhaili, a special family is remembered in history - this is Zhou Huai-nan, a famous Shanghai-based designer who has been loaded into the history of modern Chinese architecture. He not only personally designed the whole Shanhaili house, but also chose one of them and his descendants’ lives from generation to generation.
