Anastomotic fistula is one of the serious complications after esophageal and cardiac cancer resection, and it is also the main cause of death after surgery. Therefore, how to prevent postoperative anastomotic leakage has become a very important issue in thoracic surgery. This article discusses the problems associated with anastomotic leakage as follows: Anastomotic fistula refers to the poor healing of an esophagogastric or esophageal colon (or small intestine) line somewhere in the digestive tract causing spillage of the contents of the digestive tract. In addition to a fistula stenosis on the line, sometimes the anastomosis is completely removed; or a section of esophageal necrosis; sometimes limited gastric necrosis; sometimes the stomach or esophagus caused by suture cutting; their clinical symptoms are the same, difficult to identify, so They are collectively called anastomotic fistulas.
