2000年以来,罗望子创作了以《珍珠》为代表的新乡土叙事小说系列。这类作品风格质朴古典,诗意盎然。主要通过四种修辞格实现了其诗性的诉求,即“回忆”视角下的诗意化叙事;题名“隐喻”中的象征化手法;语言“所指”中的理趣化追求;诗文“互渗”中的审美化效应。罗望子新乡土叙事小说的诗性诉求昭示了罗望子小说文体意识的自觉性、小说结构的张力性、小说意蕴的多义性。作家执着于诗性诉求的同时,又因为出现日常生活叙事的雷同,从而对其孜孜以求的诗性经营有所削弱。
