1896年希腊雅典举办第一届奥运会前,国际奥委会向中国发出参赛邀请。然而,闭关锁国的清王朝,不知奥运会是何事而未予答复,与以后几届的奥运会也无缘。直到民国建立十年之后,国际奥委会中方才有了华人委员王正廷,经由王正廷的不懈努力,中国成了国际奥委会的成员,开始迈步奥运会。王正廷也因此被誉为“中国奥运之父”。
Before the first Olympic Games were held in Athens, Greece, in 1896, the International Olympic Committee sent invitations to China. However, the Qing dynasty closed the country, I do not know what the Olympic Games was not answered, and the subsequent Olympic Games also missed. Until the founding of the Republic of China ten years later, IOC China had a Chinese member, Wang Zhengting. Through the unremitting efforts of Wang Zhengting, China became a member of the International Olympic Committee and started to step into the Olympic Games. Therefore, Wang Zhengting is also known as “the father of China’s Olympic Games.”
