As a result of the North-South dialogue On the credit front, some positive developments have taken place in North-South economic cooperation. Some developments, such as the World Bank’s concentration of lending to developing countries and the establishment of the International Development Association (IDA), kicked off a formal North-South dialogue. The following results have been noteworthy since the first UNCTAD in 1964: World Bank funding has expanded; IDA supplementary funding has increased; International Monetary Fund loans have become more available; and a development of
