The festival of ha ha and the festival of sailing are respectively the festival customs of the ethnic minorities of the Chinese Kyrgyz and the Ulaan Wei in Thailand. A comparative study on the holding time of these two festival customs, the personnel of the divine affairs, the deities of divination, the divination ceremony and the ways of warding off evil shows that both have similarities and differences. The reason for the similarities and differences between the two lies mainly in the interaction between the natural environment in which they live and the cultural exchange and interaction among different ethnic groups. In addition, a comparative study of the two festival customs will help more people understand China-ASEAN maritime ethnic groups and actively participate in promoting the overall study of the language and culture of China-ASEAN marine ethnic groups.
