7月6日,主题为“优化客户关系,创造竞争优势”的NCR公司2001年Teradata数据仓库大会在北京召开。来自NCR公司总部、亚太区及国内的数据仓库专家和银行、证券、电信和航空等领域的代表近500人参加了此次盛会,深入探讨了数据仓库技术的发展、推广和应用。会议期间记者采访了NCR公司数据仓库事业部亚太区副总裁Geoff Dickson。 Geoff Dickson认为,中国即将加入WTO,面对市场的挑战和机遇,企业更需要科学化的决策支持。越来越多的中国企业开始意识到数据仓库的重要性,并逐渐采用数据仓库来提高管理能力和决策能力。这对于NCR来讲是一个非常好的机会。目前许多世界著名企业都采用了NCR的数据仓库,进行客户关系管理,比如AT&T、可门可乐等。过去三年NCR在中国主要进行了市场教育工作,目前已经取得了一些效果,建立了试点工程,即成功协助上海证券中央登记结算公司和中国民航讯息网络公司
On July 6, the NCR Corporation Teradata Data Warehouse Conference 2001, “Optimizing Customer Relationships and Creating Competitive Advantage,” was held in Beijing. Nearly 500 people from NCR corporate headquarters, data warehouse experts in Asia Pacific and China, and representatives from banking, securities, telecommunications, and aviation attended the event and discussed the development, promotion, and application of data warehouse technology. During the meeting, the reporter interviewed Geoff Dickson, vice president of Asia Pacific, NCR’s data warehouse division. Geoff Dickson believes that China is about to join the WTO. In the face of market challenges and opportunities, companies need more scientific decision-making support. More and more Chinese companies are beginning to realize the importance of data warehousing and gradually adopt data warehousing to improve their management and decision-making capabilities. This is a very good opportunity for NCR. At present, many world-famous companies have adopted NCR’s data warehouse for customer relationship management, such as AT&T, Cocoa and others. In the past three years, NCR has conducted market education mainly in China. At present, it has achieved some results. It has established a pilot project that successfully assisted Shanghai Securities Central Registration and Clearing Company and China Civil Aviation Information Network Company.
