In cable carrier auto-leveling systems, so-called Bode such as variable equalizers (sometimes called convex variable equalizers) are often used. Figures 1 and 2 show this basic network of series and parallel equalizers, respectively. The graph shows the relationship between the signal source internal resistance and load resistance and the auxiliary four-terminal network characteristic resistance, which has been normalized to R_0 = 1. The most common form of auxiliary network is the decay equalizer of a fixed value resistor, usually a bridge T-shaped network with characteristic impedance R_0 and transfer constant Ψ ’= β_0’ + jα.
