The new design code for residential buildings GBJ96-86 stipulates that residential buildings should be designed according to the type of suite. Each set should contain at least a bedroom, a kitchen, and toilets and storage space for toilets and bathing facilities (or reserved locations). Every household is required to close and do not interfere with each other. It also stipulates area standards for kitchens and various toilets using different fuels. The regulations require that the design of kitchens and bathrooms should not be overly simple and the area (especially the bathroom) should be increased. In the near future, the average national building control area is 50 square meters, which is equivalent to the building surface of the second-class residential house as stipulated in 1984.
