本院桔园地势平坦,海拔1150米,土质黄泥,肥力中等,pH6.5。面积3亩,144株,80年结果树103株。58年定植。品种为温州蜜柑,砧木枳壳。前期管理认真,桔树生长较好,65年产量3500多斤。但在十年浩劫中失管,树势十分衰弱。矢尖蚧为害严重,全园平均每叶有虫4.38头,枝叶被害达100％,使产量质量剧降。每年即使结一些,也是布满蚧壳虫的青疙瘩。为此,79年初,我们采取以重剪、治虫、施肥等综合措施的改造方案,至今已初见成效。
