A(vascular endothelial growth factor-A,VEGF-A)与肾脏血管系统的发育和多种肾脏疾病密切相关。
The renal vascular system is very important for the maintenance of normal renal function. The vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) is closely related to the development of the renal vasculature and various kidney diseases. Studies have shown that the downregulation of VEGF-A expression in renal tissue can cause renal medullary microvessel density decreased, resulting in renal hypoxia, the feedback lead to increased erythropoietin, resulting in polycythemia; and VEGF-A over-expression can lead to Kidney fibrosis, renal cyst formation, promote the progress of kidney disease. Therefore, the regulation of VEGF-A expression may affect the occurrence and development of kidney disease. This review summarizes the role of VEGF-A in the development of renal vasculature and kidney disease, and provides a novel therapeutic strategy for kidney disease.
