At 25 °, the authors measured the solubility of o-nitrobenzoic acid in nine salts (NaCl, KCl, LiBr, NaBr, KBr, KNO 3, KSCN, NaClO 4 and (CH 3) 4NBr) solutions. With regard to the average activity coefficient of o-nitrobenzoate ions in these salt solutions, the author makes some assumptions as before to calculate the activity coefficient f_u of the undissociated molecules of the acid in salt solution. The curve of log f_u versus C_s is straight at the salt concentration C_s range (from 0 to 0.5 n or 1.5 n) used herein. Compared with the slope value of the straight line, the order of salting-out of the non-dissociated molecules of o-nitrobenzoic acid is as follows: NaCl> LiBr> NaBr> KCl> KBr> KNO3> NaClO4> KSCN> The order is correct only if the assumptions in this article are correct. The order of salts with anions, such as bromides, is in the order of the cation size. The order of salts with cations, such as potassium salts, conforms to the order of anion size.
