William Blake and William Wordsworth are both prominent representatives of romantic poets. Romanticism generally opposes the industrial revolution because they believe that industrialization distorts the true face of the world, distorts humanity, turns people into machines, pollutes and destroys nature. All in all, industrialization destroyed human life. Black’s “London” and Wordsworth’s “Westminster Bridge” are famous pieces of London. Although the two poems on the surface describe different contents, they both reflect the longing for a beautiful life without oppression, pollution and polarization between the rich and the poor.
