TDY-1型问答式综合远动装置是配合宝天铁路电气化工程由西安铁路局和宝鸡无线电厂研制的。已于1980年12月14日,宝天电化通车的同时,投入使用。并于1982年1月通过西安铁路局鉴定。这种装置的主要功能是从电力调度室(调度端)控制和监视1～4个开闭所、分区亭、牵引变电所(执行端)的运行,包括:接通和断开执行端的开关,显示执行端的开关位置和事故警告等信号。
