The Davidson program aims to provide a convention-T model resorted to the theory of the extensional meanings of natural languages, and contains abnormal T-phrases in the face of the conflict between epitaxy and semantic interpretation. This question is called “Foster’s Question” because of criticism from Forster et al. Davidson strove to resort to semantic combinatorial structures and model proofs to exclude unusual T-phrases from undergoing the principle of tolerance in counterfactual tests and thorough explanations in defense of his principled theoretical position. However, Davidson’s lack of persuasion of this effort did not dispel the problems his theory faced. This shows that it is not advisable to go beyond the linguistic level of the true concept and to establish a strictly acyclic semantic theory, and the ideal Blueprint outlined by the Davidson program is hard to come by.
