今年4月9日,世界上最大建筑物的87英尺高的大门缓缓打开,第一架波音-777客机终于问世,并于6月12日做了首次试飞。该机是目前世界上最大的双喷气发动机客机,以装备迄今最大推力的喷气发动机为荣。从外表看,这架客机同当代喷气式客机大同小异。然而步入座舱,乘客一眼便会看出区别。该机机身直径大于20英尺,只有波音-747宽体客机才能与之媲美。由于侧壁不像其他宽体客机那样轮廓鲜明,因而靠近舷窗座位的乘客头顶空间更大。波音飞机公司的顾客美国联合航空公司、全日本航空公司、日本航空公司和英国航空公司都要求座舱更宽敞、适应性更强,波音公司想方设法满足它们的要求。
On April 9 this year, the 87-foot door of the world’s largest building slowly opened. The first Boeing-777 airliner finally came out and made its first flight on June 12. The aircraft is currently the world’s largest twin-jet engine passenger plane, equipped with the greatest thrust so far jet engine proud. From the outside, this aircraft is similar to the contemporary jet airliner. However, entering the cockpit, passengers will see the difference at a glance. The fuselage diameter of more than 20 feet, only the Boeing -747 wide-body passenger plane to be comparable. As the side walls are not as sharp as other wide-body passenger aircraft, passenger headroom near the porthole seat is greater. Customers of Boeing Aircraft Company United Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines and British Airways require cockpits to be more spacious and adaptable, and Boeing is looking for ways to meet their needs.
