《林中之湖》是美国著名越战作家梯姆·奥布莱恩最优秀的作品之一,描写的是美国越南战争的残酷性和不公平性,尤以揭示臭名昭著的“美莱村大屠杀”的真实性著称。互文性是当代文学中颇受青睐的一种写作技巧。在《林中之湖》中处处可见互文文本,奥布莱恩多处引用历史事实、其他著名作家的小说、军事法庭的证词、采访和新闻报道来揭示美莱村屠杀案的残酷以及战争给美国社会带来的巨大创伤。该文即运用互文性理论,分别从小说文本与真实历史、大众传媒和军事法庭之间的互文来揭示战争的本质、影响及“美莱村大屠杀”不可抹杀的历史真实性,推进了文学与历史进一步的关系。
