我国的水利水电建设自建国以来得到蓬勃的发展.1985年黄河三门峡工程采用机械化立堵抛石截流,取得了成功.其后,黄河上游盐锅峡、青铜峡、刘家峡、龙羊峡水电工程也相继巧锁黄龙.丹江口工程则成功地腰斩了汉江,从而创造了岩基河床立堵以及软基河床平立堵的经验.通过科学试验和总结经验,葛洲坝工程于1981年元月终于在流量4400~8000m~3/s、流速达7m/s、落差3.23m的情况下,截断了举世瞩目的长江,取得了辉煌的成就.
