The Turkish government established the Space Technology Council in Ankara in November 2011, under the supervision of the Ministry of National Transportation. Turkish government officials said the council will become Turkey’s first national space agency in the near future. At the same time, Turkey has also enacted a satellite development plan for 2020 that will launch 17 satellites during this planning cycle. Turkish aerospace industry experts believe that based on Turkey’s strong ambitions for aerospace technology development, it will be a niche market with good prospects for growth.
