对开式加热装置主要用于大型管道、锅炉集箱等装置的局部加热工艺,如工件的焊前预热、去氢处理及焊后局部热处理等。它是一种理想的专用装置。锅炉大型管件(集箱)的材料较多是低合金高强度钢,这种钢材在焊前均需预热。原来旧工艺是用油喷嘴直接在工件上喷烧加热,操作时噪声高、污染大,浪费柴油很多,焊缝很脏,加热温度亦很不均匀;又如大型电站锅炉现场安装时,其大直径管道的焊缝热处理,以前使用的工艺是感应加热,也很费力、麻烦,而且焊接质量不高;再如集箱的焊前预热,以往是把整个集箱送进加热炉加热,当温度达500℃左右出炉,待冷到300℃左右时由焊工速焊,几进几出工作量很大,劳动条件差,燃料消耗也大。
