Under the support of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission application development project, the terahertz technology research center of Chongqing Green Intelligent Technology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences is the first to apply terahertz technology to nondestructive testing of composite materials in China. Now it has been applied in Chongqing International Composites Co., Ltd., Chongqing Municipality Fiber Inspection Bureau and other four units to achieve a demonstration application. Terahertz waves are electromagnetic waves with a frequency of 0.1 to 10 THz (with a wavelength of 0.03 to 3 mm), located between the microwave and the infrared. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, terahertz waves are gradually beginning to be applied, such as the use of terahertz by NASA.
