Among all the literary works related to incest, Shimazaki Fujimura’s “New Life” is one of the most unique works. In this paper, we use the method of literary ethics criticism to try to find out the relationship between the ethical consciousness of the author and the protagonist and the ambivalent concealment or openness, and eventually to seek a thorough solution - the ethical choice of confessing the truth to the society . From the point of view of literary ethics criticism, “new life” is an autobiographical novel whose self-salvation through self-confession is finally realized in the ethical and moral self-discovery and self-awareness process. The purpose of the author’s self-confession at the expense of fame and de facto is to restore the normal ethical order between his nephews and his nephews so that both himself and his niece can gain a new life in real life. The dissertation’s investigation and analysis have dispelled the allegations of hypocrisy and selfishness in Fujimura all along, and the reader has a more real and comprehensive image of Shimazaki Fujimura.
