Since 1996, Wei County has experimented on new insect-resistant cotton 33B (hereinafter referred to as insect-resistant cotton), and by 1999 nearly 27,000 hectares of cultivated land had been planted. In order to further explore the occurrence and development of pests and diseases in insect-resistant cotton fields, Farmland ecological environment, as well as economic benefits and other issues, the county plant protection station for three consecutive years of systematic follow-up survey found that both insect-resistant cotton and non-insect-resistant cotton fields
