玉米笋是一种新型的蔬菜,也是罐头原料的新品种。它营养丰富,气味清香,味道浓郁,含有蛋白质及丰富的亚油酸、糖、维生素和多种人体必需的氯基酸,营养价值较高,适用于加工罐头,属世界畅销的大宗蔬菜罐头之一。玉米笋全身都是宝,根系可作燃料,叶、苞叶是牛、猪的饲料,茎杆可作蘑菇架。福建省食品工业原料公司于1984年从泰国引种,故又称“泰国玉米笋”,在福建南靖县试验,获得引种、试种、示范、留种及丰产栽培的成功,已通过省级技术鉴定,正在大面积推广。一季平均亩产700多公斤,高产达850公斤,收入达600多元。玉 Corn shoots is a new type of vegetable, but also a new variety of canned raw materials.
