Background The understanding that hemoglobin (Hb) levels in human immunodeficiency virus-infected (HIV +) patients affect positive for direct antiglobulin experiments (DAT) is still not consistent. Study Design and Methods The authors studied a total of 165 HIV + patient samples from outpatients. DAT was performed using tube test and microcolumn aggregation (CAT). Results The positive rates of DAT by tube and CAT were 18.67% and 33.73% respectively. Hb levels were lower in DAT-positive patients than in DAT-negative patients, at 12.3 g / dL and 14.3 g / dL (P = 0.0002). Univariate logistic regression was better able to study this phenomenon and look for the probability of Hb level and positive DAT. Red fine
