1999年,以保存和发展世界文化为职责的联合国教科文组织与日本芬理希株式会社一起联合发起“Chic Chinoi雅致中华”DESIGN21二十一世纪生活文化设计国际大赛活动,旨在跨越时间和地域,弘扬民族传统文化遗产,选拔优秀青年设计师,增进各国间之了解,促进世界的和平与发展。赛事活动始于1995年,已历时三届,是联全国教科文组织首次以一个国家的名义展开全球性、系列性、长期性的活动,以号召世界在西方文化占主导的今天关注东方文化的精神与格调,提倡一种富于东方式美感、对天地万物心怀敬意的环境生活方式,并期望以此为源泉能创造并引导一种新的生活趣味和时尚。组委会认为中国是东方文化之源,同时也是东方精神的最高境界,大赛的主题因此定为“Chic Chinois雅致中华”,希望借鉴“天人合一”的中国传统美学思想,再创人与自然和谐共生的生活文化美学。 本次大赛自1999年3月开始,经作品征集,共有112件来自32个国家的作品入围,其中包括服装、服饰、家具及家居用品四个门类。所有参赛作品由大赛组委会在马黎进行初选后,于1999
In 1999, UNESCO, in charge of preserving and developing world culture, co-sponsored “Chic Chinoi Elegant China” DESIGN21 21st Century Living Culture Design International Competition jointly organized by UNESCO and Fenghsix Co., Ltd. to cross the time and region , Carry forward the national traditional and cultural heritage, select outstanding young designers, promote mutual understanding among all nations and promote world peace and development. The event started in 1995 and has lasted for three times. It is the first time for UNESCO to launch a global, serial and long-term activity in the name of a country so as to call for the world to pay attention to oriental culture today, which is dominated by Western culture Spirit and style, advocating a kind of environmental life style rich in eastern beauty and respecting everything in the world, and expecting to create and guide a new lifestyle and fashion with this as a source. The Organizing Committee believes that China is the source of oriental culture and also the highest state of oriental spirit. Therefore, the theme of the competition is therefore entitled “Chic Chinois Elegant China”, hoping to learn from the traditional Chinese aesthetic idea of “harmony between man and nature” Life and culture aesthetics of natural harmony.
