在秘鲁利马的国际马铃薯中心(“CIP”,以下筒称“中心”)的科学家们正在为世界上高温、多湿地区提供马铃薯的优质蛋白质而努力。培育耐热的马铃薯品种并不容易。马铃薯原产于南美安第斯山脉的高寒山区。当前热带种植的一些马铃薯是北美和欧洲的温带品种,或是它们的后代。这些品种产量较低,主要原因是不适应那里的环境。研究者们试图培育特别适于高温、多湿地区的高产且耐病虫的马铃薯品种。
Scientists at the International Potato Center in Lima, Peru (“CIP”, hereinafter referred to as “the Center”) are working to provide high-quality, potato protein in hot and humid regions of the world. It is not easy to grow a heat-resistant potato variety. Potatoes native to the alpine mountains of the South American Andes. Some of the current tropical planted potatoes are temperate varieties of North America and Europe, or their descendants. The lower yields of these varieties are mainly due to the inability to adapt to the environment there. Researchers are trying to breed high-yield, pest-resistant potato varieties that are especially suitable for hot and humid areas.
