The assassinations of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and John Fitz-gerald Kennedy were linked by an amazing series of coincidences. Abraham Lincoln was first elected to Congress in 1846. John Ken-nedy followed exactly a hundred years later. Lincoln was elected as thesixteenth President of the United States on November 6th, 1860. Ken-nedy was elected to be the Republic’s thirty-fifth Prasident on November8th, 1960. After their deaths they were both succeeded by Southernersnamed Johnson. Andrew Johnson was born in 1808; Lyndon Johnsonin 1908.
