王菊金是上世纪七八十年代之交台湾影坛重要的作者导演,他的早期作品坚持电影语言形式创新和人性主题的探索,挑战并冲击着传统的台湾电影类型范式。在借鉴日本电影美学的基础上,王菊金融合中国古典志怪小说的叙事资源、运用创新的镜头语言形成了鲜明的个人风格。在台湾新电影运动之前,王菊金已经成为打破传统束缚、具有现代电影意识的先行者。
Wang Jugin is an important author director of Taiwan cinema at the turn of the seventies and eighties of the last century. His early works adhere to the exploration of the cinematic forms of language and the theme of humanity, challenging and striking the traditional Taiwan cinema type paradigm. Based on the aesthetics of Japanese cinema, Wang Jurong combines the narrative resources of Chinese classic ghost novels and creates a distinctive personal style by using the innovative lens language. Prior to Taiwan’s new film movement, Wang JJ has become a forerunner in breaking the traditional shackles and having a modern sense of cinema.
