Prostaglandins (PGs) are a large class of C 20 unsaturated polyoxyalkanoic fatty acids that have different regulative effects on the respiratory system and the digestive system. They are also crucial in the defenses of inflammation, tissue repair and allergy substance. Recent studies have shown that PGs have anti-tumor and hypnotic activity. Thus, such substances have generated widespread interest among chemists, biochemistry, pharmacology and the medical profession. The synthesis of its derivatives is the focus of research on such interdisciplinary issues. In this regard, Corey PG synthesis is a major breakthrough that has made it possible to mass-produce PGs of considerable therapeutic value, as well as to make significant contributions to basic life science research.
