Due to its transitional, diverse and dynamic social, economic and landscape aspects, the semi-urban areas have attracted the attention of many scholars such as geography, urban and rural planning, ecology and sociology. This article focuses on the study of the growth and decline of urban and rural settlements in semi-urbanized areas in the process of urbanization near-field promotion, and discusses the evolution characteristics and dynamic mechanism of the spatial patterns of reserved villages. On the basis of reviewing the progress of research on semi-urbanized areas and rural settlements, taking Kangdu Village, Nanjiao University City, Xi’an as an example, this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the settlement space in recent 15 years by means of remote sensing image interpretation, field investigation and statistical analysis. Pattern and its evolution mechanism. The results show that Kangdu Village experienced a total of four peak construction periods and two significant changes in employment between 2001 and 2015. Most of the aboriginal people started to rent houses in 2006. Aboriginal employment change time is similar to that of major cities The time nodes are highly consistent; the evolution of employment and the peak of housing construction show a systematic evolution of “stimulus-feedback ”. The main driving force for the evolution of rural settlement spatial pattern in semi-urbanized areas is the external drive of near-urbanization and the self-adjustment of village indigenous inhabitants.
