Introduction The chromatin of eukaryotic cells consists of three main components: DNA, protein, and a small amount of RNA. DNA is the material basis of biological inheritance, and genes are a segment of DNA. The functions of various cells in different animals are different. Even if they are the same type of cells, they may have different functional performances at different stages of their life cycle. The basic problem is that the expression of genes in chromatin is different. Chromatin proteins fall into two categories, namely histone and non-histone (NHCP).
