According to the provisions of Annex I of the Cooperation Protocol on Hydroelectric Power and Related Water Resources Utilization between China and the United States, China’s “Three Gorges Project Comprehensive Utilization Development Technology Inspection Group” visited the United States from October 20 to November 23, 1980. The inspection team consists of ten comrades in the three departments of water conservancy, electric power, and transportation. The US is hosted by the Water and Power Resources Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior (formerly known as the Bureau of Reclamation), and the Army Corps of Engineers cooperates with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
