Autumnal foliage occurs sequentially with reduced storage of carbohydrates (CHO), which is cut and dead if deciduous foliage appears before November 1. The regenerated leaves of the deciduous trees in August will not be restored to the stored nutrients consumed by the new shoots until December 1, and the result will be a substantial reduction in the production of the following year if the non-production of the following year is absolutely required. The deciduous leaves caused the largest amount of stored nutrients in September and will hinder the next generation of female flowers or male flowers. Deciduous leaves on November 1 have no significant effect on the storage of CHO.
