传统义利观的主导性价值选择是重义轻利，由于忽略或否弃了利(效率)，就最终使义(效率)的实现成为空想。本文认为，社会主义市场经济条件下，应当实现传统义利观由纯道德领域向道德——经济领域的现代转换，把义利关系问题具体地确立为公平与效率的关系问题，使之真正具有现实意义和时代意义。邓小平“效率优先、兼顾公平”的效率公平观是对传统义利观的扬弃。
The dominant value choice of the traditional concept of justice and benefit is reliance and lightness, and the omission of interest (efficiency) ultimately negates the realization of justice (efficiency). Deng Xiaoping’s “fairness of efficiency, giving priority to fairness” is the sublation of the traditional concept of righteousness and benefit.
