嘉兴香米系浙江省嘉兴市农科所采用泰国香米58与广陆矮4号杂交选育的集早熟、优质高产、抗病于一体的早籼品种。1991～1992年浙江省拨出专款扶助该品种示范繁殖。1993年又列入为浙江省大面积示范推广优质稻。1993年,我市农牧渔业局粮油生产站引进嘉兴香米分别在分宜镇、河下乡和良山镇示范繁殖500余亩。虽在长时间阴雨连绵、低温寡照的天气下,仍表现出熟期早、产量高、抗性好、米质优等综合优势,受到欢迎。 Jiaxing rice is the early indica variety with early maturity, high-quality, high-yield and disease-resistance in the department of agriculture of Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province.
