1950年,在我国外交部派驻瑞典的大使递交给瑞典国王的国书上,除了毛主席和周总理的签字之外,还盖着一枚“中华人民共和国中央人民政府之印”的印记。在建国后的许多国书和重要文件上,都曾留下了这样的印记。历数中国的用印传统,很容易发现这枚印章的诸多特别之处。其一,这是一枚阳文方印,是典型的国玺的制作规格,但在字体上却有别于中国的历代皇玺。在中国历史上,历代皇帝的印玺都是使用篆书字体,但这枚开国大印使用的却是宋体字,“老百姓看得懂”。
