This article studies the effect of tympanic membrane perforation on distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs). Models of perforation of the tympanic membrane of different sizes and locations were made with guinea pigs and some were modeled with periprosthetic or ossicular chain disruptions to study the effects on DPOAEs.
